Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is an Indian Air Force pilot selected as part of ISRO's Gaganyaan human spaceflight programme. He flew to the International Space Station (ISS) as mission pilot aboard the Axiom Space Mission 4 (Ax-4), which launched in May 2025. He became the first Indian astronaut to visit the ISS and the second Indian in space after Rakesh Sharma (1984). His mission is known informally as "SHUX" (his mission identifier). The Ax-4 mission was a significant milestone in India's human spaceflight ambitions, conducted in collaboration with NASA and Axiom Space. Karnataka Postal Circle released this commemorative picture postcard to honour his achievement.
