This is a Permanent Pictorial Cancellation (PPC) issued by Rajpur Sub Post Office (Rajpur SIJ), Surguja district, Chhattisgarh, PIN 497118, inaugurated on 3 March 2025. Semarsot Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area located in Surguja district, northern Chhattisgarh, notified in 1978. It spans approximately 430 sq. km of moist and dry tropical deciduous forests in the northern extension of the Ramgarh hills. The sanctuary is rich in biodiversity, with fauna including spotted deer (chital), sambar, nilgai, sloth bear, leopard, gaur, and various bird species. It is situated near the borders of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand. India Post issued this Permanent Pictorial Cancellation from Rajpur Sub Post Office to highlight the ecological importance of Semarsot Wildlife Sanctuary and promote awareness of Chhattisgarh's natural heritage.
