This is a Special Cancellation issued by Raipur Head Post Office, Chhattisgarh, PIN 492001, dated 25 June 2025 to commemorate the launch of Axiom Mission 4 (AX-4). The octagonal cancellation design features a rocket, a globe showing crew countries (USA, India, Poland, Hungary), and the text 'Axiom Mission 4' and 'AX-4'. Applied on an 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' postcard bearing an Atal Bihari Vajpayee stamp.
Axiom Mission 4 (AX-4) was a commercial crewed spaceflight to the International Space Station (ISS) operated by Axiom Space, launched on 25 June 2025 aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon from Kennedy Space Center, USA. The mission carried a crew of four astronauts representing four nations: Peggy Whitson (USA, Commander), Shubhanshu Shukla (India, Pilot and Mission Specialist), Slá Pružina (Poland), and Tibor Kapu (Hungary). Shubhanshu Shukla became the first Indian astronaut to travel to the ISS and the second Indian in space after Rakesh Sharma (1984). This special cancellation from Raipur HO commemorates the historic launch and India's participation in the mission.
