The Sri Jagannath Temple at Puri is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites in Hinduism and one of the most sacred temples in India. Built in the 12th century by King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva, it is dedicated to Lord Jagannath (a form of Vishnu or Krishna), along with his siblings Balabhadra and Subhadra. The temple is renowned for the annual Rath Yatra (chariot festival), which draws millions of devotees from across the world. Puri itself is one of the four sacred dhams and a major coastal town on the Bay of Bengal in Odisha. The combination of the temple and sea wave in the PPC design reflects the dual identity of Puri as both a sacred pilgrimage destination and a coastal town deeply connected to the ocean.
