Historical Significance

The Madhur Ananteshwara Vinayaka Temple, located in Madhur village in Kasargod district, is one of Kerala's most revered Ganesha temples. Built in the Kerala-Karnataka style of architecture, the temple complex is known for its massive Ganesha idol and beautiful pond. The presiding deity, Lord Ananteshwara Vinayaka, is believed to be a swayambhu (self-manifested) idol and draws thousands of pilgrims particularly during Ganesh Chaturthi. The temple has cross-cultural significance to both Kerala and Karnataka communities due to its location near the cultural confluence region. It is managed by the Kasaragod Devasthanam Board.
